These colorful lip blocks are designed for use with the TalkTools Straw Kit. Red & yellow lip blocks both fit TalkTools Straw #2 & Straw #3 (sold separately).
Lip blocks support finding the correct place for the straw and tongue. These lip blocks (and straws) can be used with very young children, as well as with adults. It has been used successfully with clients who evidence severe cognitive deficits as well as those with normal intelligence.
Therapeutic straw drinking is an effective technique for achieving tongue retraction, lip protrusion and inhibiting tongue thrust, skills that are needed for speech clarity and feeding safety.
